Radegast 2.32

cinderblocks/ February 12, 2020/ releases/ 13 comments

Radegast 2.32 is now available for download on the downloads page. This is another minor release which fixes long-standing login issues with parsing LLSD-XML in the login response.

With a recent change in Second Life, this issue has reached epidemic level, and I am happy to announce 2.32 fixes logins for those who were unable to. I am thankful for those of you who reported the issue and helped diagnose the problem.

I strongly recommend updating to this version.

Let’s keep the bug fixing going. Any issues you may find, please file a comprehensive bug report in the Issue Tracker. The more information you include, the faster we are able to get it fixed. Due to all the feedback on this login issue today, we were able to get it fixed in a matter of hours.

Enjoy! Download here.

  1. Thank you for the quick response and troubleshooting. This is first class service. Keep it up

  2. Same issue as with Radegast 2.31 on Linux/Mono 5.20.1 here:

Thankfully, Latif’s Radegast v2.18 still works for me (and is still capable of logging in for now).

    1. I’m going to need to get a baseline on just which version of Mono supports everything. LibreMetaverse has been migrated to .NET standard 2.0. There are comments that 6.4.x is working. The goal is to switch from Mono over to .NET Core once enough of the UI and imaging libraries have been ported to Linux.

      1. Well, I just built Mono v6.6.0 for my distro, and while Latif’s old Radegas,t and all my other .NET applications that I run under Mono, do work properly with v6.6.0, Ragegast 2.32 still refuses to work, albeit with different errors:

I also tried to build Radegast v2.32 from source with xbuild, but it fails as well because of an issue with LSLTools:

radegast/LSLTools/LSLTools.csproj: error : ~/radegast/LSLTools/LSLTools.csproj: The default XML namespace of the project must be the MSBuild XML namespace. If the project is authored in the MSBuild 2003 format, please add xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/developer/msbuild/2003" to the element. If the project has been authored in the old 1.0 or 1.2 format, please convert it to MSBuild 2003 format.

        1. I made some progresses this morning. About the “System.Web.Extensions” issue, all I needed was to install the “mono-mvc” package I just built (which was not needed by Latif’s Radegast).

Radegast v2.32 is now starting on my system and I can login with it, however it is still not working properly: all messages get printed at the same (first) line in the Chat window (and yes, I did set a proper font (and tried several others) in the preferences for the chat), some buttons look weird and fmod refuses to load.

Here are links to what I get and see:

  3. hello, thanks for the great work, but I was not happy with this update, when opening object view it makes use of the processor to go up a lot, and if I open several objects, it causes me to be very slow, when I opened the group link in the public chat this sent to the browser external, and I can’t access the group this way, if I keep the objects tab open, and after several minutes go back to the chat tab, the chat flashes frozen white empty, I have to return to the objects tab and again go to the chat tab, to reveal all chat and fix like refresh. I had none of these problems in the previous version. sorry my bad english. hugs

    1. the previous version I refer to is 2.29. hugs.

  4. When you want open link example profile or join group, that link open the explorer or chrome, but never the profile (group or person). in the new version.

  5. Hey mate just wanted to tell you that your Linux/Mac version that you have on your site is actually windows executable. Is that intended, as in there is no native *nix version, or its intended to run under wine or whatever equivalent is on Mac?
Cheers, I fucking love this viewer!

  6. 2 things. 1: “Auto accepting teleprot from “…this has irked me a tiny bit. it should be teleport, not teleprot
2: updated to 2.32. it keeps pestering me to update to 2.32. See the circular logic?

  7. Can i get assistance with getting this installed on MacOS?

    1. MacOS is not currently officially supported although it is planned to be supported again. You will have to experiment with Mono or Wine for the time being.

  8. I am using a Mesh Body, but the Mesh Body I have won’t rez when using Radegast. Works fine with the
normal viewer though. Can you fix this issue?
